TULSA – Oath, a nationwide estate and financial planning firm dedicated to helping people live better, more purposeful lives, and The Rural Gone Urban Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting strong women doing brave things, are proud to announce the Wanderlust Gala: Gone Sedona the inaugural fundraising event, which will support the foundations’ three pillars: no-gpa-required scholarships, small business grants, and judgment-free grants, aka love bombs, for women in the ring with cancer.

Oath’s financial contribution ensures the inaugural event will be the must-attend event of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We're honored to play an integral role supporting an event that celebrates making the most of life through all it's ups and downs and leaving a lasting legacy,” said Rod Yancy, Oath CEO.

In 2022, in the shadow of an allegedly incurable medical diagnosis, metastatic triple negative breast cancer, founding board chair Brooke Taylor hoped to show her daughter there is more to success than a perfect GPA, that launching a business from scratch is a noble venture, and the grit that comes with tackling a cancer diagnosis is unmatched.

“I became a mom six hours after learning I had breast cancer,” said Brooke Taylor, Rural Gone Urban Foundation board chair. “And, when my girl was two, I learned it returned with a vengeance. While I have no say in if I will graduate to heaven early, this foundation ensures even if I’m not physically present, my legacy is.”

The Foundation’s love bombs program awards judgment-free grants to women in the ring with cancer who are focused on establishing a living legacy for their loved ones.

“After up-leveling to a stage four diagnosis, my daughter and I shopped together for her high school graduation, college graduation, wedding, and first-baby gifts,” Taylor shared. “While I hope to give her these gifts in person, I am grateful she’ll have a piece of our shared-memories on those milestone days. This experience 100 percent inspired the love bombs program.”
