Why does the Rural Gone Urban Foundation Scholarship Exist?
When Brooke Taylor, a high school senior, was told by her guidance counselor college wasn't the right path, she faced a pivotal moment. Supported by her family, friends, and crucial scholarship funds, Brooke refused to be deterred. With perseverance, grit, and passion, she earned two degrees and embarked on a successful career in agriculture that took her around the globe. Inspired by Brooke's journey, the Rural Gone Urban Foundation was launched in March 2022 with a mission to empower students like Brooke — those often overlooked, the B and C students — to invest in themselves through higher education.
The foundation's inception was fueled by Brooke's unwavering determination and strength in the face of an alleged incurable cancer diagnosis.
It was her desire to show her daughter that brave and strong women, like those the foundation supports, can overcome any challenge.
