Below you’ll find a list of our volunteer teams, which is followed by the volunteer application, which is directed to our volunteer coordinator.

*All volunteers must be able to use the Group Me app, email, and be available for virtual meetings as needed.

  • The Love Bombs committee is comprised of women who have heard the words, “I’m sorry, it’s cancer.”

    This committee is responsible for reviewing love bomb applications and creating helpful content for cancer patients.

  • The scholarship committee is responsible for the annual scholarship season, which includes refining the application, reviewing applications, and creating helpful content for applicants.

    During scholarship season, this committee meeting to kick off the season, dedicates approximately a week to reviewing at your own pace, and a final meeting to finalize award recipients.

    This committee communicates primarily through the Group Me app.

  • The small business grants committee is comprised of women who own small businesses and reside in rural America.

    This committee meets 3-5 times per year, refines the annual application, reviews applications, and mentors each recipient for 6 months.

  • The golf tournament takes place in May in Perkins, Okla.

    Volunteers solicit sponsorships, work “games” at various hole during the tournament, set up sponsorship signs before the tournament, set up and sort raffle baskets, work the check-in table, etc.

    The planning committee and volunteer team meet monthly, then bi-monthly, then weekly leading up to the event.

  • The Wanderlust Gala is annual fundraiser for the Rural Gone Urban Foundation.

    Volunteers solicit sponsorships and auction items, establish event logistics like run-of-show, secure speakers, coordinate with vendors, and decorate the space.

    The planning committee and volunteer team meet monthly, then bi-monthly, then weekly leading up to the event.

  • The copywriting team is comprised of professional communicators who author guest articles featured on ruralgoneurban.org.

  • The brand strategy team is comprised of designers and brand strategists who take the lead on strategic communications for programs, events, and digital media.

    We communicate via Group Me and meet 1-2 times per month via video conferencing for real-time work sessions.
