Sadie Lackey, Stage 4 Classic Hodgkin lymphoma, nodular sclerosis subtype

We are so honored to award a love bomb to miss Sadie Lackey (@lackeysadie on Instagram), who is kicking Stage 4 Classic Hodgkin lymphoma, nodular sclerosis subtype, where it counts.

“Cancer has assaulted my mental health, rearranged my dreams, and paused my ambition. Mostly because... I'm just freaking tired,” Sadie shared. “And, dang it, The Turnpike Troubadours are coming to town, and I can't go. Because I have cancer.”

Sadie’s biggest fear is that she’ll make all these post-treatment plans ultimately land on her face. She’s terrified the bright future she clutches to so strongly will become a false reality.

“I haven't yet discovered all my God-given talents, calling, or passions. I haven't started a family. I haven't bought a house or finished my Master's degree or even purchased my own dog yet,” she continued. “And I can't help but think that I will have to suppress all my excitement and goals because I'll have to find a way to pay my (growing) mound of medical bills.”

Sadie is a dreamer and that’s absolutely why she’s in Washington, D.C. working as a public servant for a commodity checkoff-funded organization.

When Brooke Taylor FaceTime’d Sadie to award her a love bomb she was on the way to treatment. And by the end of that day’s treatment she’d already made plans to put this love bomb to use.

Go to the beach, Sadie.

Go the mountains.

Go to the spa.

Wherever you want.

Just live.

Sadie took an extended trip over the Memorial Day weekend to Sandbridge Beach, promptly timed a week before my last treatment.
