In the first 48 hours of the 2024 Rural Gone Urban Foundation Scholarship season, we received an overwhelming response from our community. With 50 completed applications and an impressive 994 applications in progress, it's clear the need for support among brave and strong women in rural communities is greater than ever.

To ensure we can award scholarships to as many deserving individuals as possible, we're calling on our generous donors to join us in expanding the impact of this year's scholarship pool. With your support, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of even more aspiring students, empowering them to pursue their dreams of higher education and beyond.

How You Can Help:

Make a Donation Online: By making a donation online, you can conveniently contribute to the scholarship fund and help us reach our goal of awarding more than 10 $1,000 scholarships this year. Please note there is a 2.9 percent increase for online donations to account for processing fees, but rest assured that all donations will directly support the scholarship fund.

Download and Mail Your Donation: For those who prefer to donate by check, you can download the printable donation form and mail your contribution along with the completed form. Donations must be received by April 13, 2024, to ensure they are included in this year's scholarship pool.

Administration fees are already accounted for in our 2024 budget, which means admin fees will not be applied to these donations.

About The Rural Gone Urban Foundation Scholarship

The Rural Gone Urban Foundation Scholarship program aims to empower brave and strong women from rural communities to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are awarded in increments of $1,000, with the goal of expanding opportunities for deserving individuals who demonstrate resilience and determination.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to female students from rural communities across the United States.

  • Applicants may any traditional or non-traditional student accepted to or currently enrolled in a traditional college or university, trade school, or professional training program.

  • No GPA requirements; emphasis placed on work ethic excellence and financial need.

  • Preference given to applicants demonstrating financial need and a history of work ethic excellence.

  • Applications must be submitted by the deadline of April 13, 2024, for consideration.

Brooke Taylor, Board Chair & Executive Director

Brooke Clay Taylor is the founder, board chair, and executive director of the Rural Gone Urban Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting women navigating life’s hardest seasons through scholarships, small business grants, and judgment-free financial assistance.

Raised on a farm in Indiana and later on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma, Brooke built a career in agriculture marketing before launching her own communications firm, Rural Gone Urban. Her personal experience with breast cancer deepened her commitment to building a foundation that uplifts women with authenticity, dignity, and practical support.

She lives in Oklahoma with her husband and daughter, leading the foundation’s mission to empower women to build meaningful legacies and sustainable futures.
