Rural Gone Urban Foundation Announces 2024 No-GPA-Required Scholarships

The Rural Gone Urban Foundation is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2024 No-GPA-Required Scholarships program. In line with our mission to empower students overlooked by traditional metrics, we are offering ten scholarships, each valued at $1,000, to rural female students across the United States. Applications for these scholarships will be open from March 13, 2024, to April 13, 2024. Recipients will be notified during the week of May 14, 2024.

The inspiration behind these scholarships stems from the journey of our founder, Brooke Taylor, who defied discouragement and adversity to pursue higher education and a successful career in agriculture. Brooke's resilience in the face of an alleged incurable medical diagnosis served as the catalyst for establishing the Rural Gone Urban Foundation in March 2022.

The Rural Gone Urban Foundation Scholarship aims to support students like Brooke, who demonstrate perseverance, grit, and passion in their pursuit of higher education. Open to rural female students the scholarship places no emphasis on GPA but values work ethic excellence and financial need.

"We believe that every student, regardless of their academic standing, deserves the opportunity to invest in themselves through education," remarked Brooke Taylor, Chair of the Rural Gone Urban Foundation. "Our goal is to provide support and resources to those who embody bravery and determination in the face of challenges."

In addition to the scholarships, the Rural Gone Urban Foundation offers valuable resources to scholarship applicants, including guides on crafting bios, capturing headshots with smartphones, navigating college finances, and seeking recommendation letters.

The Rural Gone Urban Foundation remains committed to championing the aspirations of hardworking and passionate scholars, and we are eager to welcome the next cohort of recipients into our community of support.
