Jillian Chapman, Stage 4 Breast Cancer

For Jillian Chapman (@jrchapman8), first came love, then came marriage, then came… freakin’ cancer.

In November 2018, just two short months after marrying her college sweetheart, Stage 4 Breast Cancer showed up like an uninvited wedding crasher, and it’s been anything but a honeymoon since then.

In spite of being an amazingly brave and strong woman (she passed her Certified Public Accountant exams during tax season!), Jillian has had to continue her fight with cancer, and recently started Taxol… again.

While she has lost both her beautiful blonde hair and the ability to have children, Jillian and her husband Keith look toward the small moments in life, enjoying cooking and hockey.

“We try to live our life to the fullest and enjoy the simple things while also keeping up with work and cancer appointments which is not easy. It always feels so much better to run away from our problems for a bit and just try to be normal again.”

Grounding their normalcy are Murphy and Lola, their beloved basset hounds.

“We have become those people who take their dogs to the park every day and know all the other dogs in the neighborhood.”

Hug those puppies, cook the meals, enjoy the anniversaries, and attend the hockey games. The Love Bombs are cheering for you.

Love Bombs Committee

The Love Bombs committee is comprised of women who received their very own invitation to the cancer club and walked unique paths of survivorship and active treatment.

Whatever you want to call the financial contribution, Rural Gone Urban Foundation Inc. awards judgment-free grants to women in the ring with cancer who are focused on establishing a living legacy for their loved ones.

Because sometimes you just need someone in your corner.
